Some important information about the YHGSA
The main source of funding for the YHGSA was an annual grant from the Department for International Development (DFID). This ends in August 2010 about two years ahead of schedule. As a result the YHGSA has brought several of its activities to a premature close. The Board decided at its meeting in July that the YHGSA should continue to exist for the time being as a registered company. The Association has limited resources which will enable this website to be maintained alongside the Global Schools Award (regrettably now at a cost to schools). This strategy also puts the YHGSA in a position to get involved in the new DFID programme (Global Education England) should the opportunity arise.
Website maintenance will take place during August and September.

Global Schools Awards
The GSA is currently being revised for 2010 with updated benchmarks and a new support structure for schools. Schools are now required to contribute financially to the award.
